February 10 - April 23rd Breaking Ground: Art About the Earth
Glad to be part of another juried show at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, Solomons MD. I entered one piece, "Protect," based on the idea that the Earth is abundant in resources which provide for us and protect us, but it is critically important that we are good stewards and protect it as well. 12 x 12" mixed media mosaic on wood. September 12 - 25: Poured Out
Inspired by the miracle of the widow's olive oil in the Judeo-Christian Scriptures (2 Kings 4: 1 - 7), "Poured Out" is a self-curated series of visual meditations I exhibited at Bon Secours Retreat & Conference Center in Marriottsville, Maryland.

In conjunction with the installation, I facilitated a workshop about faith and the creative process on Saturday, September 17th, also at the retreat center. It was a great pleasure to be joined by a variety of artists and makers for convos and time simply to create.

<< This 4 x 4 inch palette trash mosaic is one of 50 pieces going to the show. Inspired by tree-lined back roads in Carroll and Howard County Maryland, the sky winks through the leaves. A number of other abstract landscapes are among the 50 pieces as well as mosaics drawing on a range of inspirations. |
