Memory of Fire #2
4.5 x 4.5 inch. I'm kinda obsessed with gold foil. Gold sometimes begs for its BFF, red. Here red, teal, and black are layered over imitation gold leaf and bits of gold paint. Mixed media on wood panel. Comes with mini easel.
Spring Over Winter
4 x 4 inch. Early spring greens and whites with traces of gray, blue, and orange. Mixed media on wood panel. Ships with black mini easel.
Sunset Over Liberty Reservoir
6 x 6 inch mosaic on wood, inspired by watching the sunset through trees at Liberty Reservoir in Carroll County, Maryland. Still early in its descent, the sun was so bright it made the bare trees look black as the dead of night. The sun's reflection on the reservoir shimmered and danced. To capture the essence of the scene, I layered dark gray and black verticals over gold, copper, and silver foil.
6 x 6 mosaic on wood, inspired by bold sunrise on a cold November day in Howard County, Maryland. Fiery and pastel at the same time, the sun's glow melted up into the trees as the blues of day appeared.
SOLD November Afternoon
6 x 6 inch mosaic on wood inspired by the colors of a sunny November afternoon - pale blue cloudless sky, silvery tree branches, orange and gold leaves over a rocky, green meadow. Carroll County, Maryland.
6 x 6 mosaic on wood. The sky hints at a storm but it is still bright enough to make the grass jewel green against the dark bare trees. Howard County, Maryland.
4 x 4 x 1.5 inch palette trash mosaic on wood. Inspired by a poem about Lazarus being raised from the grave, shimmering gold and metallic pale blue filters through layers of whites and grays. Read the full story of the inspiration and creative process on my blog dated March 11, 2021.
